What Is PAH? | Understanding Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia Due To CoolSculpting
PAH usually presents as an enlarged bulge in the treatment area, and is firm or dense when compared to surrounding tissue.
Okay–you decided it’s time to get your glow on.
You Googled “best HydraFacial near me.” You read all the reviews and found the best medspa in town. You bravely booked your first HydraFacial.
You’re ready to unclog those pores and bask in the dewy afterglow. Here’s what you need to know before your first HydraFacial visit.
HydraFacial is the world’s leading hydradermabrasion treatment, designed to renew dull, tired-looking skin–giving you an effortless glow.
HydraFacial uses a unique 3-Step protocol to achieve advanced exfoliation, pore extraction, and moisturization. The centerpiece of treatment is the patented vortex-fusion technology, which creates a vacuum-like effect that unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells from the top layers of skin. The specially designed HydraFacial handpiece also allows for simultaneous delivery of cleansing and hydrating agents throughout treatment.
During each step of treatment, different HydroPeel Tips are switched out on the handpiece. The provider makes adjustments to the pressure and suction settings on the handpiece depending on the response of the skin.
HydraFacial treatment takes under an hour, and the results are apparent immediately. Treatment is pain free and there’s no down time. HydraFacial can be received once monthly, year-round.
It’s difficult to understate the benefits of HydraFacial. Confidence in your complexion can boost your overall mood and your mindset in amazing ways.
We can’t count the number of times a happy client exclaims something like “Oh my God, I’m glowing!” after their first HydraFacial. The skin feels clean and rejuvenated. Pores are less visible. It feels like your skin is breathing.
HydraFacial also works great as a targeted therapy for a variety of skin conditions. Common concerns include hyperpigmentation, dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and inflamed skin. Treatment can be tailored to your specific needs.
Most providers offer HydraFacial in three basic options:
At our clinic, the majority of clients choose the 45-Minute HydraFacial option. This option has a fair price point, gets you in and out the door quickly and still yields amazing results.
If you’re looking for the quickest and most cost effective option, a 30-Minute Express HydraFacial might be best for you.
The good news here is that you can’t really can’t go wrong with any of the above choices–all HydraFacial treatments include the patented 3-Step protocol for exfoliation, extraction and hydration. Check out all our HydraFacial options here.
Booster Serums are an optional upgrade during HydraFacial treatment. Think of a Booster Serum as a cocktail of ingredients that penetrates the skin in its fully cleansed state. Booster Serums are a great way to maximize treatment results and address specific skin concerns.
There are currently more than 17+ Booster Serums available to choose from. Booster Serums include ingredients like Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Tranexamic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Retinol, Vitamin B, and Peptides.
One of our favorite Booster Serums brightening is Britenol, which includes Alpha-Arbutin (a natural brightening agent), Vitamin C (an antioxidant,) and Bearberry Extract (a natural brightening agent.) Try out different options here, see what works best for you!
Facial Add-Ons are another great way to spice up your HydraFacial. Typical Add-Ons might include dermaplaning, steam therapy, targeted pore extractions, HydroJelly Mask, or neck/body treatments. Just ask your HydraFacial provider what’s available before getting started.
We love inserting a quick 10-minute Steam Facial in between Steps 1 & 2. This opens up the pores even more prior to HydraFacial extraction.
Keep in mind, there may be a small added cost for these types of HydraFacial add-ons.
On the day of your HydraFacial treatment, arrive a few minutes early so you don’t feel rushed. Your provider will have intake paperwork with basic questions about your skin history. Make your provider aware of your treatment goals. Share any special skincare concerns you may have.
Many clients choose to wear comfortable, athletic clothing for their treatment. Your provider will most likely have a comfortable garment top to change into.
Arrive to your HydraFacial appointment with clean skin. If you’re wearing makeup, it’s no problem, your provider will gently cleanse the skin before getting started.
Otherwise, plan to relax. Feel free to ask your provider to dim the lights and put on some relaxing music, you deserve to chill out!
HydraFacial has succeeded in taking a highly variable cosmetic service–the lunchtime facial–and standardizing the process for both providers and consumers. Overall, standardization is a great thing. It ensures consistent and reliable results for the broadest number of people.
However, you want a HydraFacial experience that is something more than just “standardized.” You want treatment to be specific to you. You want the entire experience to be GREAT. Treatment should make you feel invigorated and energized. You should feel inspired to take care of your skin even better after you leave your appointment!
Find a local medspa with a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable with the staff. Find an aesthetic provider that understands your skin concerns, and can confidently develop a comprehensive skin plan for you.
