CoolPeel is an advanced, FDA-cleared CO₂ laser treatment that resurfaces the skin with minimal downtime. It uses DEKA’s SmartXide Tetra laser—specifically the High Pulse (HP) setting—to deliver short, high-peak energy pulses that precisely target fine lines, texture, sun damage, and enlarged pores without the excessive heat or damage of traditional CO₂ lasers.

• Consult: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early. You’ll complete a short health intake and consult with a provider to review your skin goals and concerns. We’ll assess if topical numbing is appropriate for you. We’ll take Before photos of your skin prior to treatment. Visible transformation is part of the process—we love showing you the difference.
• Treatment: Your CoolPeel treatment is performed using the DEKA Tetra CO₂ laser, targeting fine lines, texture, and sun damage. Most sessions last 15–20 minutes, and the sensation is typically described as a warm, prickly feeling—well-tolerated by most, especially when numbing is used.
• Aftercare & Follow-Up: Expect mild redness similar to a sunburn for 1–2 days. We’ll guide you through aftercare instructions, schedule your follow-up, and eventually take after photos to showcase your progress.

While CoolPeel is safe and effective for many skin types, it’s not for everyone. You may need to delay or avoid treatment if any of the following apply:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• You have a history of photosensitive conditions like lupus, rosacea, or psoriasis.

• You take photo-sensitizing medications such as tetracycline, doxycycline, hydrochlorothiazide, or naproxen.

• You currently use active skincare products (Tretinoin, Retinol, Vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs, etc.) — these may need to be paused before treatment.

• You’ve had recent facial treatments (microneedling, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, etc.) — wait times may apply.

• You have a history of hyperpigmentation or skin cancer.

• You have a history of seizures or light sensitivity.

A single CoolPeel session typically takes 15–20 minutes. That includes prep, treatment, and post-care. The laser portion itself lasts only 5–10 minutes, thanks to the precision and efficiency of the DEKA SmartXide Tetra CO₂ system.

There’s no need for numbing in most cases, and no lengthy recovery time—making it one of the fastest ways to get glowing, smoother skin without the downtime of traditional laser treatments.

Most patients describe CoolPeel as a warm, prickly feeling that is quick and very tolerable. For lighter treatments, numbing may not be necessary. However, we offer a topical numbing cream beforehand to maximize comfort, especially for more sensitive areas or deeper settings.

CoolPeel is designed to be a safer, low-downtime alternative to traditional CO₂ laser treatments, but like any advanced skin procedure, there are potential side effects to be aware of. Most are mild and temporary, especially when the treatment is performed by a trained provider.

Possible side effects may include:

• Redness (similar to a sunburn) for 1–3 days.

• Dryness, flaking, or mild peeling.

• Swelling or tightness in the treated area.

• Temporary darkening of brown spots before they slough off.

• In rare cases: infection, hyperpigmentation, or prolonged healing—typically linked to poor aftercare or sun exposure.

Following proper pre- and post-treatment instructions is key to minimizing risk and achieving smooth, glowing results.

Out of an abundance of caution, CoolPeel is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While the treatment is non-invasive and doesn’t use harsh chemicals, laser resurfacing—even at the lighter CoolPeel setting—has not been studied extensively in pregnant or lactating individuals.

Additionally, your skin may be more sensitive or reactive due to hormonal changes, which can increase the risk of irritation or pigmentation. We recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to begin your CoolPeel series, and our team will be happy to schedule you when the time is right.
